We have been very privileged to show at the Chelsea Flower Show over the past few years and our hard work and efforts have been awarded with thirteen consecutive Gold Medals. Quite an achievement with cut flowers.
We have to start preparing for Chelsea the previous September. Our own selected seed is sown into seed trays awaiting germination. The trenches are prepared by digging two spades deep and well rotted manure added. We carefully tend to the resultant seedlings, transplanting into individual 7cm pots before planting into the prepared trenches the first week in January.
Chelsea brings out the best and worst of exhibitors. The worst is the frustration when things don’t go to plan (mainly weather) but this is offset by the good, which is definitely the adrenaline kick and buzz which we have experienced time and time again at Chelsea. Every bit of hard work is worth it when the coveted Gold Medal card is placed on your display.
